Both small-group and large-group training get you coached, accountable, and stronger — the right choice comes down to how much individual attention you want, your budget, and the kind of atmosphere you thrive in. Here’s how they compare.
The quick comparison
| Small-group training | Large-group training | |
|---|---|---|
| Class size | Six or fewer | Larger, high-energy class |
| Coaching attention | Close, personalized, numbers tracked | Expert coaching, less 1:1 |
| Best for | Beginners, returning after a break, specific goals or limitations | People who love community, energy, and momentum |
| Cost | Between 1:1 and large group | Most affordable coached option |
| Vibe | Focused and precise | Social and motivating |
When small-group is the right call
If you’re newer to lifting, coming back after time off, or working around an old injury, small-group training is usually the better start. With six or fewer people, a coach can fix your technique in real time and choose the right loads for you — the fastest, safest way to build a foundation.
When large-group shines
Once you know the movements and want energy, accountability, and a crew to train alongside, large-group classes are hard to beat — and they’re the most affordable way to train with a coach in the room.
You don’t have to pick just one
Plenty of our members start in small groups to build skill and confidence, then add large-group classes for variety and community. Both are strength-focused and both are coached.
