GOT PULL-UP? (The Set-Up)

Pull-Ups are definitely one of those exercises that everyone at the gym wants to do…but few do very well. The most important thing to understand, and this goes for all movements, is the set up. Once you have that understanding hard wired in then it is up to you to be smart, consistent and persistent with your practice of the PU so that it is YOU who will soon reign as The Pull-Up Boss at your gym.

  1. Start from ‘dead-hang’
  2. Engage abs slightly and take the ‘shrug’ out of your dead-hang
  3. Keep shoulders down and drive your elbows into your back pockets
  4. and pull the bar down and ‘through’ ¬†your upper chest
