Small Group Training
High-Accountability Personal Training With Our Incredible Coaches
You want extra accountability and best-in-class support from our expert coaches (including Matt). No more than 6 to a class. We track your progress with you using hard numbers.
Small Group Is Built For You If…
- You want a coach's eyes on every rep
With no more than 6 people in a class, your coach sees every set you do — your form, your weights, your effort. Nothing gets phoned in, and nothing gets missed.
- You're starting (or restarting) after 40
Maybe it's been years. Maybe it's been decades. Small group is the safest on-ramp we have: every exercise is scaled to how you move today, then built up from there.
- You want proof you're getting stronger
We track your progress with you using hard numbers — the weights you lift, the reps you complete. You'll never have to wonder whether this is working.
- You'd love personal training, but not the price tag
Small group gives you personal-training-level attention shared across a handful of people, which makes expert coaching far more affordable than going one-on-one.
What A Session Looks Like
Check in & warm up
You're greeted by name. Your coach gets you moving with a warm-up that preps exactly what you're about to train — no wandering around wondering what to do.
Coached strength work
The heart of the session: strength training programmed by Matt, coached in real time. Your coach sets your weights, watches your form, and adjusts everything to your level.
Track your numbers
Your weights and reps get recorded, so next session builds on this one. Progress at The Lift isn't a feeling — it's a number you can watch go up.
Wrap up
You leave knowing exactly what you did, what it means, and what's coming next. Most members are surprised how fast it flies by.

“My time is my most precious commodity. You can go to your huge gym with no guidance, or you can go to The Lift where your exercises are guided and targeted to get results!”
Coached By People Who’ve Done This For Decades.

Every session at The Lift is led by a coach, and the programming behind it comes from co-owner Matt Jennings — a personal trainer since 1993 with NASM, AAFP, and NSCA certifications and thousands of clients coached. Co-owner Kathy Jennings coaches alongside him and personally helps every new member find their footing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many people are in a small group class?
Never more than 6. That cap is the whole point — it’s small enough that your coach personally guides every rep you do, and big enough that you’ve got teammates cheering you on.
I haven't trained in years. Is small group still right for me?
Yes — it’s actually the best place to start. Your first session is a friendly assessment of how you move, and every workout after that is scaled to your level and built up gradually. You’ll find plenty of detail on our Your First Session page.
How is my progress tracked?
With hard numbers. We record the weights and reps you hit so every session builds on the last one, and you can see in black and white that you’re getting stronger.
How is this different from one-on-one personal training?
You get the same expert coaching and individualized attention, shared across a group of no more than 6 — which makes it significantly more affordable. We also offer private one-on-one training; just ask Kathy about it through any Talk To Kathy button.
